THE DETAILS - What is Included
| Your company logo or name can be reproduced on each page. We will include up to 20 digital images that you provide or from public domain clip art and animated graphics. We will make your images web ready. The package includes high-resolution scanning of six items, additional scans are $4 each. This includes minor touch-up, cropping, sizing, and web formatting. Creation of original artwork and custom animation is not included, but we will design a Name Header for your pages. |
| The Basic Package includes custom design of up to 12 linked pages of text, images, and forms. You can describe your products or services, provide information, your portfolio, or other material other than illegal or adult content. Each page can be up to 800 by 1600 pixels, about three screens per page. Pages longer than that will be counted as multiple pages, unless they are mostly plain text. In general, it is best to keep your pages fairly short. Twelve pages are more than enough for most sites. Additional pages are $25 each. |
ALL THE BASIC FEATURES YOU NEED
| We will include JavaScript if you want active link buttons, image switches, or other special effects. A basic navigation interface for your site is included. Each page can have email links, links to contact forms, and unlimited links to your own pages and other sites. Page Counters, Tables, Lists, Forms, and Backgrounds are all included. |
DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION
| If you want your own domain name (www.yourname.com), we will help you register it as part of the package. We can get you a flat rate of just $15 per year for domain registration. Choose from 1, 2, 5, or 10 years at $15 per year total cost to you. |
HOSTING ARRANGEMENTS
| This package does not include the monthly fee for hosting your site on a web server. This is available for $10 to $20 per month for your own domain name or at no cost if you use your ISP. We will arrange for hosting, if needed, and upload and test your site. Minor changes and corrections are included for 30 days after the initial upload. Later updates can be handled at a reasonable cost. |
SEARCH ENGINES - META TAGS
| One-time submission of your site to 10 major search engines is included (Yahoo, AltaVista, Excite, Lycos, Webcrawler, MSN, Infoseek, Snap, Netscape, AOL). Meta Tags will be inserted in your pages to facilitate search robots and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of your listing. This is all done manually to insure proper category selection and adherence to the rules for each search facility. You can help us select your search keywords for maximum impact. |
CUSTOM WORK - TESTING - SIMPLICITY
| All pages are custom hand coded, not done using a template or HTML editor. Graphics are sized and formatted as needed. Pages are tested on both Netscape and Internet Explorer, as well as on various size monitors and even text-based browsers to insure that your pages look correct on all platforms. Our philosophy is to make a good presentation to every viewer, regardless of their equipment. To this end we design pages that load quickly, avoid sideways scrolling, work on old and new browsers and do not use Java. We sometimes use JavaScript for special effects, but it is never necessary to properly browse your site. |
AFFORDABLE - JUST THOSE FEATURES YOU NEED
| We provide a very complete service at a highly competitive price. This package does not include custom CGI programming beyond page counters, forms, and site search, or Java. Most sites do not need these things, so why pay for them? A basic secure shopping cart is included and you can accept credit card information online. If you want to sell more than twenty products on your website it will a little cost more to program the listings, contact us for an upgrade quote. |

| How does the design process work? You tell us what you want, or what effect you are after, or provide the address of a site you have seen that is along the lines of your goal. If you don't have a particular concept in mind just explain the subject matter or material you plan to have on your site and we will work-up a custom design. We will consider sites of other companies in your profession and help you find the best approach for your particular site. We work up an individual custom design for each project we do. While we will provide design suggestions, we don't force our ideas on you. Our job is to create the site that meets your needs and satisfies your tastes. We will take the time to determine your preferences in colors, fonts, and the tone you want to set on your website. |
| You will provide the content. While we can develop the layout and handle all the technical details of creating your pages and making them display as desired, we don't know your line of work like you do. While design is important, Content is King. People come to your site to learn about your industry and your business in particular. Think of your site much like making a brochure for your company. You need to describe what you do and give options and details. Images and pictures are also important. We will give you suggestions on what we need, but you will need to provide the material. We will help you polish and refine it for best presentation on your pages. You can use whatever methods are most convenient for you to get the content to us - email, fax, hand sketches, paper mail, telephone, etc. |
| Next we will display a rough draft in a private development area of our web site for you to examine, based on our discussions and the materials you provide. You will tell us what you want changed and we will make adjustments. We will do this several times until we have the basic design down and you are satisfied with the results. How long this part takes depends on how closely we understand your desires and how specific your requirements are. We will then build and test your complete site and give you a private URL on our site where you can view it online. Changes can still be made. All text is checked for spelling and proper HTML format and display. |
| Once you approve the site, we will upload it to the server of your choice and test it again. If you need help finding a server to host your site, we will assist you and set-up the account. You will then have a full 30 days in which to make additional minor changes to get your site just the way you want it. We are available by phone as well as by email to handle the design process. Once your site is online we will submit it to the eight major search engines and many other outlets to start you on your way to online success. |
| We will also be glad to handle your future needs, although there is no requirement that you use our services after the initial work is done. The choice is yours. Unlike some design firms, we don't lock you into hosting with us or make it difficult for you to consider other options, although we do offer hosting arrangements. You can count on our being available in the future when you need to update content or want to make other changes. |
COMPLETION TIME FRAME
| It will take about two weeks to complete your site, depending on how complex it is and how many revisions are necessary. We can usually get started right away and will work on your project until it is done. If you need more features or pages than the Basic Package offers, or other services, we will provide a quote on time and cost. |
