If you want to use your own website address, yourname.com, it will be necessary to register the domain name. While the standard rate is $35 per year, we offer our clients domain registration for $15 per year.

This process involves the following steps:

• Selecting a Name appropriate to your site
• Determining if the Name you want is still Available
• If Available, Registering it as belonging to you or your company

The registration process is fairly straightforward. Once you have decided on a name and we have determined that it is available, we can handle the registration process for you, or help you do it.

You will need to decide on the following items:

• How long to register your name initially. The Registrar we use offers 1, 2, 5, and 10 year registrations at $15 per year. I suggest 2 or 5 years. If you are not sure you will keep the name, just start with one year. It will come up for renewal after the initial period at the prevailing rates.
• The owner name of the domain. This can be your name, or a company name.
• An address for the domain owner. This data is available to the public.
• An Administrative Contact and Billing Contact. These are often the same person. For this area, you need either a persons name, or a role name. You can also have a company name. You will need to provide an email address, mail address, and telephone number. You can also include a fax number. For most people, the domain owner is their company name or their name and they serve as the contacts. All of this information is available to anyone. You can change the contact data at any time. Changing the domain owner will incur a transfer fee.

You can check the availability of your desired domain name by using our "Check Domain" service below. Simply type in the name. If you do not include the .com part, it will check for .net and .org also. If you do, it only checks for what you have typed-in. If it shows no match, you can be fairly sure that the name is available. At that point, we should go ahead and register it, contact us to make the arrangements.
